Free HDloader booting trouble with official sony drive
Free HDloader booting trouble with official sony drive –

hi guys
i have a duo 2 in a version 7 ps2
chips works fine
i can get game backups to boot as well as the ******* FreeHDDLoader
my buddy wanted me to format his official sony hdd, it is a scph-20401, and install the loader on it
so, i tried booting the ps2 with the hdd in and the hddloader disc, would not work
after a few failed tries, i decided to format the drive first
so i popped it in my xbox, used the latest slayers evox disc, formatted it, unlocked it, popped it back in
tried booting with the disc again, the ps2 acts like it's going to boot, goes to a black screen, makes loading sounds, then gives me a Disc Read Error and a Not Data on Disc
when i remove the hard drive and boot it with disc, the hdloader boots fine, and i've used the same disc to format a different drive
but leaving the hdd loader in when the hdd is in, it will not boot the disc
anyone know why this is? jumper settings maybe? any help would be MUCH appreciated! thanks

Make sure HD is set to MASTER.. also try using winhiip 1.6.5 or HDD format tool on your PC(if you connect it to your PC you'll have set the HD to SLAVE or CS and then back to MASTER when you put it back in the PS2).
Can the DUO2 be turned of.. if so try that.
Hope this helps

Try use HDD Utility 1.1 to format the HD.
