basically I have backup a dvd9 game to HD using the free hdloader and a modchip.
and from what I can see is that it is working.
But the weird thing is that it says the game is 3 gig when I was copying stuff over.

The libs used to program HD Loader don´t allow to read all from DVD9, so that explains why he only installed half of the game.
Chances are you will run into problems later in the game, because stuff will simply be missing.

neither fake or real can play dvd9 games
lol this topic is so misleading... ;(
Why? The HDD simply did not take all th info. So he only has part of the game installed to the HDD.Quote:

well, the game is working at the moment.
Any confirm report that dvd9 games does not work when using a modchip and hdloader?
You don´t seem to know ANY sites regarding compatibility issues of the HD Loader.
To quote from the source ( http://www.hdloader.com/site.php?page=compatibility ):
"DVD-9 Games
Games on DVD-9 media are currently unsupported by HDLoader. If you attempt to install a DVD-9 game it is likely that the installation will appear successful, but any attempt to actually run the game will most likely fail. There are currently under 10 DVD-9 games for the PS2, so hopefully this is not too much of a problem."
Got it?

but does that statement take in to account of people using modchips?
The problem is in no way related or affected by modchips, it´s the lib that are HD Loader is programmed with that don´t support DVD9.
Read the entry from the compatibility section of HD Loader, as you can see it exactly describes what you were experiencing.
