    Using:
    HD Loader (bought from Foundmy.com)
    Samsung 2042H HDD (20 GB).
Network Adapter (bought from Best Buy) Ethernet + Modem

Everytime i boot up the PS2 it tells me to format the drive. So i checked the settings, and the drive was set to Master. I changed it to Cable Select and the same thing occured. So i took it off the PS2 and plug it up to my PC and used WinHIIP v1.6.3 to format it. The drive erased perfectly, with quick and full, but it gives me an error about not having a valid PS2 master boot record.

Is there anything that i forgot to try? Please help.

The PS2 HDD Compatibility Chart has it as compatible.

Its OK i found out what was wrong with it.

I opened up Partition Magic and deleted the drive, let it redetect it, and then try to format and it gave me an error #509.

So all in all its a bad drive.
