Well since this post is a mix between HDD stuff and DNAS stuff I just figured I'd post it here.

My question is this. If hdl/a is capable of playing non dnas games online and does not disable the bba would that mean that it's looking for files in the dumped game that relate to dnas protection.

And if this is true. Would there be some way to fool hdl into thinking dnas games are non dnas games so that the bba would not be disabled and patched backups would then be playable online via hdl.

Just some speculation but I think I'll start some investigation soon. If anyone else has any ideas or what not I'm open for discussion.

The reason DNAS games don't work is because HDLoader loads up IRX files to run, but the games need them to initialize the NA and connect to a server, so when you try and play a game, the NA can't be initialized because those IRX's have already been loaded, only way to fix this, would be if HDLoader did a soft reboot before it actually loaded the game, then you could play DNAS games online. Well in theory anyway.

I know this game isn't DNAS, but it works from the HD and BB adapter I hear.. Is this true? Do any other games work this way online ?

jeez ppl, please search first. Non-DNAS games will work online because they do not try to load the same modules as hdloader. DNAS games however, have some sort of clash between modules already loaded, and modules needed to be loaded. Therefore, because of this clash the NA cannot initialize.

currently, patching is not the answer, and i'm not sure how to fix this issue. (i dont even have a theory on how to fix it)

t0n are you the author of hdl, if not how can you have the definitive answer on why it doesn't work.

Because that is pretty much the definitive answer, it's driver conflicts that don't allow you to play DNAS games online (they also don't allow you to play demos of games included with a game). If a new version of HDLoader or some HD product, that did a soft reset before it actually loaded the game, then this wouldn't happen.

well once again I hate you say you're wrong but I've played demo's included with games via hdl, the wakeboard demo on the th4 disc plays just fine.

I didn't mean all demos won't work, just ones that need the same drivers that HDLoader is using, it's like with non DNAS games, you can play those online because they don't use the same drivers that HDLoader does, so there is no conflicts. I'm sure if you played a demo on a game from a few years ago it will work fine also.

ok so what we are looking for is some way to unload conflicting irx files prior to loading the game's elf.
