Why is iso reading program reporting FF12 as 5.5mb? I tried everything to see if there are hidden files/folders but no luck. Is there anyway I can see all files?

Normal ISO reading relies on normal usage of the TOC (Table Of Contents). But Square have a tradition of always hiding the majority of their files, including in the TOC only those files that must be loaded by the Sony boot routines, in order to start the main ELF by Square. (Normally this is the file named "SLUS_whatever".)Originally Posted by boiler123
All other in-game files are completely hidden, accessible only through some special method of Square. I'm not even sure if this method uses some proprietary TOC system, or just raw sector addresses determined at compile time. But I am sure that no general purpose ISO tools are able to see those files as files. To such tools those sectors are simply unused, which accounts for the incorrect disc size calculations.

Thanks. I guess there's no way to put ARmax cheat in this iso then..
no
I've been fooling around with the iso for a while...I tried to embed codebreaker...
since we can't read all of the files in the ISO, we can't save any modifications we apply to it...
neither does merging files work (CRC errors) and hexing stuff into it is more a crazy hope than a possibility.......(yes, I was at the edge of despair and tried it...NO PICKING on me please,)
