I use the hdl dump prog to install games from my pc to my ps2 hdd. Works great. Until i use the faplink prog. Game partions gone and when i had a msg saying that the toc wasnt able to be written all my games gone....... So i was wondering if you guys experienced it... Or know what can i do to use those progs....
No, not at all, i think you screwed your hdd, there has been NO other accounts of this , and i use 3 methods of storring them (winhiip, faplink,cdrom)
i had a similar problem, loaded 2 games with faplink, worked great, hooked the hdd to pc opened with hdl_dump, everything fine, opened it with winhiip i got bad partitions error on the games, i took the hdd back to the ps2, and the games were gone, i think it had something to do with formatting the hdd in hdloader isntead of winhiip or the dms format tool.
Same thing happened to me too, but lucky I have all the backup on DVDs so just have to re-install them. Beside, FAPLink is a good idea, but the transfer rate over network is somewhat slow. I modded my HDD to be used as external, so I just use WinHIIP and transfer rate is fast. A 2GB image I can put it into HDD for about 3 to 4 minutes using my external USB 2.0 plug.Quote:

I don't have any of these problems with HDL_dump .6 over the network.
Is HDLdump over the network faster than faplink?
I believe faplink goes at about 500Kb?
