I ran FAP link Faplink v0.86 RC 1 to install a game but the game failed to send about 90% in. I ran the HD format tool and deleted the ghost image like the nfo said to and I tried to install the game again but it said that it cannot create a partition. The nfo said to delete the HD advance settings file and run Hd Advance in order to make a new settings file. Unfortunately, after deleting the settings file I cant install the games or even create new partitions in the HD format tool. I have tried to copy someone elses HD Advance settings file but it would not transfer via the FTP. I also read in the forums to use an uncompressed version of hd advance but that did not work. I even tried the actual HD Advance cd and nothing happened. Any suggestions that don't involve formating the hd? Thanks.

I think your issue is very similar to mine. Once FAPLink fails a transfer, the partition created lies dead on the hd. I've tried to delete the partition using execftp, but it just stays there. I think the problem you're having is that the partitions aren't infact deleted and FAPLink just tells you it can't create the partition ... I suggest you try a different name for the application you're uploading.

I tried the new version but it wouldnt work either. I have tried saving the game under different names but the problem is that my hd will not allow any new partitions of any kind to be installed. For example using the DMS hd format tool I have tried making an empty partition with no success. Also, I have tried to instal a game using hd advance with no success. Currently the only thing the hd can do is read games that I already have. Because the Hd Advance Settings file is gone, hdl_dump doesnt register my hd as a ps2 hd so I cant backup the games I have on there. Formating seems to be my only solution.

    Sorry to hear that PiratePanda.
I've stuck with hdloader & hdl_dump (not dumb), and I've never had any trouble. Whenever I've tried any other proggie - trouble. So I'm going with the addage "If it aint broke, don't fix it".

Even if you use the new faplink .87.1, you're not able to transfer a dvd game. It froze after 1.7gb. It seems there is a bug that limits 2GB transfering. I tried sending a 3 GB game twice and it stopped at 1.7GB. So I suggest you want to wait the next release. BTW I have no problem with transfering cd-r based game

That's really amazing because based on the creator and I quote "DVD Images
FAPlink .87 currently can only send images less than or equal to 2 GB in size. This will definitely be fixed in the next release." I guess you're lucky to by pass the bug
