Fails to Initialize NA & HDD. Help!

I have a SCPH-30001 its v4.
100% unmodified, laser replaced 2x by sony for free, less S&H.
I have been uing the MC Exploit since about June, not really heavily,
but a lot since Juiced and NFS Most Wanted Came out.
Currently am using a WD 80gb HDD and when booting the PS2 during
the BIOS screen where it says Sony Computer.... you could here the
hd turn on for a sec then turn off agian, also had the side effect of
decreasing the lenth time of the ps2 displayed the bios splash screen.
Anyways removed the HDD to install SRS from the PC and re-inserted
the HDD into the NA then put it back in the ps2 and turned on the PS2
and notice the bios screen was incredibly long like 2x-3x the normal
time and didnt hear the HDD turn on and off.
it eventually loaded into Launch ELF 3.4 so i went and chose to open
ps2menu 2.4 and it stalled at the loading ps2hdd.irx for about 20secs
then loaded ps2 menu w/o access to the HDD, so dissasembled and
made sure the jumper was on CS, sounds strange but thats what the
WD 80s need to be on, and it was right.
reloaded and the same thing happened, tried again and attempted to
go directly to hdloader and it didnt find an hdd.
To verify that the hdd still worked properly i put it in the pc again,
it worked, so i took my newer ps2 the one where they added the built in
IR and removed the iLink firewire, and everything worked perfectly.

Is it possible for the port that the NA plugs into to "die?" if it is well
that could really suck for all the HDLoader people

it's possible for the port to die, but it's rare i think. try taking a can of compressed air to the port. if that does not fix it, it's possible for a network adapter to die as well, or develop an incompatability with the hard drive.

i'd test the NA first without the hd and see if u can get online. if that works, then put the drive back and try. a loose connection can cause lotsa trouble.

well i swaped out the hd and no luck
tried the NA with the original hd in another ps2 (the 50001r) and it works perfectly.
tried going online w/o hdd attached in madden 06 with no luck

sounds like u could have broken the NA or NA interface

does the NA work in another PS2 ?

yes the NA works in another PS2, i have 2 ps2s
1. scph 30001 version 4 = NA doesnt work in it
2. scph 50001Rb version ? = NA does work in it

then you have probably blown the fuse in the PS2 for the NA

you will have to replace this

Im not sure where it is, try searching for a fuse diagram for your version
