God of War and Madden and Metal Gear Solid 2:Substance just off the top of my head... this is a major breakthrough IMHO

hehe, ok. will you then, make it less confusing?
Sorry, I just had trouble parsing what you said.

write what value? PVD of the 2nd layer? and if this is so, then i'm still perplexed as to why you'd need this if you're flattening an image (since there really isn't a 2nd layer).
The PVD of the second layer minus 16, as the ps2 seems to read the PVD as 16 sectors past the layer break, while (my pc at least) reads the PVD at the layer break. The images is not being flattened in the usual sense, i.e. rebuilt into one layer. The idea is to take a dual layer disk and rip it as is, with the second layer appended to the end of the first one, and (hopefully) having it work.

Also, I wasn't thinking straight when i posted that hdl_dump binary. If you don't have aspi installed it won't work. I'll build a new binary a little later.

My "Street Fighter 3: Third Strike" (JAP) needs mode 2 to work and that's a CD version. There were some read errors in HDLoader while dumping at the end but the game still works perfectly after that (I really play it alot so i would have encountered isses for sure)

I don't know if there are any other games which require mode 2 even if they aren't really duallayer at all.

Here is corrected patch for hdl_dump and a binary without aspi support.

Edit: I just installed an unpatched GT4 with this tool and patch, and it actually works. I've tried one random track so there may be other problems, but at least it runs.

Tested ! This patch can not solve the freeze problems at God of War - Pandora's box level ! It's very funny that after this patch, at Pandora's box level you can run immediately to nearest save point after loading and you can save, but if you wait for 2-3 seconds the game will freeze with sounds. It seems that something is running in background caused this.
