Does the server fail to reply entirely, or is it some other operation that doesn't work ?
More details are needed in order to help you.

Well, it doesnt connect at all with WS_FTP, and with FlashFXP it connected once (the first time) but had slow upload + download speed.
yeah, ftp'ing with the ps2 is pretty slow. i think speeds max out around 700k/s.. its okay for ftp'ing elfs & stuff to the MC
danhrules3:
So at present no connection can be established between your PC and PS2. Right?
Then we have to question the validity of the current TCP/IP setup.
Presumably the IP config files on the PS2 are unchanged, so how about the PC end ?
Are you using fixed IP addressing or automatically (DHCP) generated addresses ?
And have you upgraded any major parts of your Windows system lately ?
For example:
Upgrading windows XP to SP2 level will automatically reactivate the built-in firewall, even if you had it deactivated when making the upgrade. Lots of other system settings will also fall back to Microsoft defaults, completely ignoring the settings that you had chosen earlier. Other Windows updates than SP2 can also have some such effects, although not quite as far-reaching and diverse.
You need to double-check that no firewall is between the PC and PS2, and that the IP used by the PS2 'fits' in the netmask of the PC, and of course the PC's IP address should be used as 'gateway' in the PS2 configs.
(Ooops, almost forgot!) The last bit above assumes that your PS2 is connected to you PC directly, or through a simple hub. If the connection is through a proper router instead, then it is the IP address of the router that should be used as 'gateway' in the PS2 IP configs.
That's about all I can think of for now. Good luck!
