I have succesfully installed execftp, I run it from ps2menu-k, all the config is good. I can connect and transfer small files (like elf) with no problem. the problems start when I try to upload a good amount of data, genesis roms for PGEN in my case. I queue them all in flashfxp, and after about 4-5 megs transfered, the transfer speed dies to 0k/s and the HD light remains constantly on. After that the only solution I have found is a reset of the ps2. Am I missing something here?

That is, because they are using crappy TCP/IP IRXes. The proper ones are from ps2sdk-1.0-alpha plus ps2smap built from ps2eth CVS (all those could be found @ ps2dev site).

For those of us less technically inclined can you tell us which IRXs need to be replaced with which ones? Unfortunately though the last two builds have all the IRXes contained in the ELF file.

Download ps2sdk-1.0alpha-bin (somewhere on the ps2dev site) and use IRXes inside, then get ps2eth from CVS (on ps2dev) and compile ps2smap.irx. That setup is usually working fine. However to build ps2sdk completely from CVS one should use gcc-2.xx (and not the latest gcc-3.2.2).

The people/person that made ps2ftpd should be doing this, not you.

Execftps is unstable when transferring to the hard drive. To the memory card it's fine. If you look on the ps2nfo forums, I have a long thread about execftps, pgen and your exact problem.
