Easy Questions about HDD and Mem card
Easy Questions about HDD and Mem card –
I got a version 4 with magic 3.1 plus in it broadband adapter with a seagate xbox 10 gigger. After much searching I have many different programs to format the hd with. I used WinHIIP_V1.7.5 to format on pc then hooked up to the ps2.
please answer this one
#1 Should I be able to save my game progress (savegame feature) to the hd or do I need a mem card???? read something about the modchip needing an ata feature to be able to see the drive when booting up does my magic have it?
#2. when creating bootable cds is it neccessary to make a bin out of the files using cdgenps2 or can I just copy the neccesary files to a dvd and burnem?(DMS hdd formatter for instance)
Ive been trying this with no luck since im low on cds and my ps2 is having a prob playing my cdr material.
#3 finally after getting an execftps to boot and connecting via flashfxp with passive mode off I am not able to write to or copy from the Hd. It starts to then it hangs and freezes up the execftps and i have to reboot ps2. should this be happening or is something wrong with the enetadapter?
Im using same cable that i use on my xbox and it works fine
1) you need a mem card, only some games support saving to the hdd anyway even if your chip patches atad.
2) use cdgenps2 to make your cdr's compatible unless you have a compatible iso already.
3) try using a different ftp client or making smaller partitions on the hdd to trasfer your files. in my case, execfpts has always been flaky when transfering to the hdd, so I usually just don't do it.
