Easy guide to using HDL Dump
Easy guide to using HDL Dump –
Well after searching many times and reading for hours I am still left with a blank. Here is my situation. I have my PS2 setup with the HDD and HD loader and and trying to connect my pc to ps2 via network router. The problem I'm coming upon is that most tutorials describe connecting the ps2 HD to my pc and setting up appps like exceptftp and such. Being that I have a laptop its not possible to do this. I was then reading that you could boot a burnt cd that contained the .elf file and systme.cnf file and that would work, but it didn't for me. Do I need to burn the cd in a certain way, or add more files to get it to work? Any help that would contain a simple step by step process would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
ok the burnt cd wont load unless you have a fliptop/ modchip or some other way of loading backups
an out of the box ps2 will not play backed up games.
1. buy a mod chip ( pick your own i dont know much about them
2. Buy a fliptop.. Very easy to install i got my from ( this might not show up) www.ps2fliptop.com also swap magic disks from the same site
3. buy the hd advanced get an ide hdd and a network adapter and you will no have to worry about disks just do everything with the hdd inside a usb enclosure.... this may not be what your are looking for but only trying to help
yeah, i was looking to see if i could send games over the network. I got Jak 3 and the patch to make it work, and since i have no modchip i can't save burnt games. I figured that the only way to get the new image on the hd would be through a network connection. But it sounds like from what you are saying is that I will only be able to do it with a chipped box or by hooking the ps2 hd up to my computer, which will be difficult as i only have a laptop.
Get a usb to ide adapter and connect your hdd to your laptop. Thats the easist way.` Use HDL Dumb to transfer files. You need XP on your PC to run Dumb.
