does the jumper settings matter ???

Works for me on both Cable Select and Master but just stick to Master.

my western digital wouldnt work until I set it to cable select

it wants master, shouldn't have any trouble with cable select. i use the latter since it makes moving it back and forth from the pc trouble...less

some drives prefer it to be set as master while other drives are more likely to work flawesly on cable select, so its really up to you to find out wich case it is, in my case i always set it as master and it works for me.
