Do i have to have the original retail ps2 game in order to copy it to hd or can i use a backup copy of the game and then rip it on the hdd?

Did you figure out how to copy a backup the hdd? I tried using hdl_dump... I copied 2 backups and 1 original and only the original shows up in hdloader. Also, I even tried my original Tiger Woods 2004 in hdloader and it said it couldn't recognize it as a valid ps2 disc. I didn't play with any of the mode settings, but I don't see why it doesn't recognize the disc. Any information you could provide?

I have cd swap magic ad dvd swap magic. what you do is this:
Load HD loader after its loaded up and all, choose install then eject hd loader and put in dvdr swap. Let it spin if it doesnt stop spinning your going to have to take it the disc off while its spinning which means if you aint got a flip top lid, this is pretty much alot of work. So anyways you take out, dvdr swap and then put in the backup ps2 game and hit continue it should then read it.
