I have been to 2 Fry's Electronics within the past month. The first one was in Sacramento, and they had 5 PATA's to choose from, and ALL goddamn Western Digitals! Then less than 2 weeks ago I went to the Fry's in Los Angeles, and those bastards said they haven't seen a PATA hard drive in 2 weeks!
Does anybody know anything about this new era we are going thru where the incredibly universal IDE hard drives are disappearing from the face of the earth? I remember way back in the day someone developing an IDE-SATA converter working for the PS2, but had varying results. I think I'm just gonna buy a 1tb SATA and take some IDE's out of the computer to use for my xbox1 (it is in dire need of an upgrade). I remember Seagate released a 750gb PATA not too incredibly long ago, and then all of a sudden, stopping production of IDE hard drives?
