Is there a way to directly boot HDL instead of first booting up an elf launcher and then HDL?
Because i only use HDL, i dont need a launcher, so it saves space on my mc
thanks.

you can put hdl onto your mc, and change it's (hdl's) name so that it's launched as dev application (boot\boot.elf for example). Basicly, look what's the name of your elflaucher and replace it with hdl.
Hm, the thing is, i tried that a few times, but didnt work. Do i need a packed or unpacked hdl elf on my mc?
I use the exploit to install the files, then i use a psx game to load it up. I get a white screen (as normal) after that black and no HDL![]()

I know, i use BOOT.ELF (HDL). but doesnt work, black screen.
I think i need to make a BOOT.ELF wich links to HDL directly. I think HDL isnt loadable directly. But how do i do that?

You are correct in assuming that the normal exploit is not capable of launching HDL directly. A modified version of the exploit exists that can do that, but I think using it is a bad idea. You are going to need other homebrew software too, it's just a matter of time, and much of it can't be launched from HDL. Thus you'll need another launcher capable of starting all homebrew programs, including HDL, and use that other launcher as your "BOOT.ELF".Originally Posted by bokkoman
Since I am involved in the development of one such program, known as uLaunchELF (AKA: uLE), I naturally recommend it for others as well, but there are other launchers too that can also do this job. You will find such projects in the subforums of the homebrew section of this site.

thanks for the info dlanor. I used keylauncher before, because it had a timer. Does ulaunchelf also have a timer and is it smaller in size then keylauncher?
thanks again.
yes it has a timer and you wont look back after using it...there so much to do with it too
