Defrag & Utilities for HDD
Defrag & Utilities for HDD –
There's a way to defrag the non Sony HDD directly from the PS2?
There's any utilities disk I could download?
you could extract all the games you have on your hdd to iso's w/ winhiip, format the drive, & then re-install them with the 'reduce fragmentation' option provided by winhiip. otherwise, i dont think there is a way currently available.
DMS3 chip + ATAD Auto patching, with Official Sony HDD Tools = defragging of a third-party HDD.
so all i need is a dms3 ps2 right. turn on the auto patching. put in a sony hdd tools. then degrag.
also can i use this method to make my hdd be a normal sony hdd
after i do all this, can i still have it visible in a non sony ps2 in the ps2 browser
As long as you have dms3 and autoatad patching on, any hdd will work as the real drive in the console. The only thing that is not possible is using an unofficial drive online. (DNA's detects modchips, and some games have patches to find non sony hdds)
ya, but if i remove the drive. and put it in a non dms3 ps2, is it still same.
So the Offical sony drivers have a defrag utlity? now the question would be how can one get the offical drivers with out buying a Sony drive? since I've heard the drivers when installing will detected the presence of a modchip. unless the chip is in sleep mode.
The drivers detect if the HDD is official or not, I have my chip on when I've done it numerous times and it works perfectly fine. Except the DVD Drivers they won't install with the chip on and without an Official Sony HDD.
