A company we all know well has been developing a specific product allowing the use of a USB HDD on the PS2/PSTwo for running games using HD Advance and... the ETA for this exciting product is within 30-60 days! Those of you who were hesitant in purchasing a PSTwo due to the lack of native (internal) HDD support can now put your mind to ease-------- this was a post from bs2****

I don't know if this will have an effect on the gaming, but how would the transfer rate between the USB HDD and the PSTwo be during gameplay? Just curious if this actually will affect the gameplay.

Also it seems that one company has a modchip ready for the PSTwo and another one is on its way to modding the PSTwo! Looks like a bright future for the PSTwo if the USB HDD actually works w/the PSTwo!
    Equipment Specs:
    V7 PS2 Messiah 2 Pro Mod / Seagate 200GB 7200 RPM HDD
    Ext HDD Mod
Works Like a Charm! Already filled up all 183 gb!

A PS2Two witha HDD is about the same size as a regular PS2, maybe a bit smaller. If you already have a PS2 there's no need for the PSTwo.

I was thinking of buying a new PS2 because my old one is near its end, I think. But I was hesitant on the PSTwo not because of its lack of HDD, but because I figure the regular size PS2 is a lot cheaper and that saving could get me two to three games. Or maybe I could use the extra dough to import PSP. But then again, it might be too tempting, but I'm joining the Marines early next year, so I don't know. I guess time will tell.

And as importtuner say, the lower transfer rate might mean sluggish gameplay. Anyone tried playing a PC game off an external HDD? Maybe that would give us an idea or something.

PS2's USB ports are 1.1. I never thought a company was dumb enough to try this out on the PSTwo, I figured it was common knowledge that USB 1.1 transfer rates are not that good. Id be shocked if people actually have any kind of luck with this..that is, if it ever comes out, or if its more vaporware like zoneloader was.

I think they're probably just blowing smoke. Inless the "pstwo" has usb 2.0, but I don't know why they would do this. What actualy suports the ps2's usb ports. Oficialy the guncon, unoficialy the ar pendrive and gs save thing. I don't see why sony whould add usb 2.0 since 1.1 supports what is out there for it just fine, and sony made the pstwo so it would be cheaper to manufature and they would make more money. It would be great if pstwo did have usb2.0 though.

regardless, if they manage to do it then its only proper that there would be a scene release

    Zoneloader. LOL!!
that was actually real! another fine quality product in the sjeep line of discs!
That was a deal with the guy who made the Pandora xbox mod, Ian. His fault for that being vaporware.
