Giving the name of the place would be considered posting warez. I finaly managed to make it boot correctly. I redid everything without any of that relinking non-sense and at first it gave me a black screen so I tought that it was because I forgot to enable the mode. So I restarted the PS2 but I started the game quickly forgetting to enable any mode once again and to my surprise it booted correctly:P Go figure
Edit: Look like I spoke too quickly, I just started a game and the game now give me a black screen after the MGS3 menu. No mode let me play the demo. You must be right about that version not working.

I got mine in an iso format and i just use LordBogami hdl_Dump to copy the iso to my drive. I don't even need to select any modes to start the game. Could it just be the version of MG3 game you have that was ripped is actually not working at all? BTW i got mine from a torrent site and it's 419MB compressed.
i'm looking at the SLUS_XXXX.XX file from Star Wars Battlegrounds (from my LEGAL backup of the game). I extracted the ISO portion of the disc as described in the first post (that means no UDF crap). Now - I'm using the hex editor XVI32 and searching VERY CAREFULLY through the SLUS_XXXX.XX file that in in the ROOT of the folder. First i was doing some vague searches such as 'cd' and there is plain old 'cd' mixed in with the hex all over the place. But i searched for the text 'search' and a some very interesing stuff came up. Starting at hex position 2EED2 and ending at 2F4CC there is reference to boot files. I'm not familiar with PS2 dev files but there is reference to libdvd libcd (libraries of course) also files linking to the DNAS shit (at hex address 2DCA8). But i'm a n00b when it comes to hex editing. It's interesting that DNAS shit would be in a boot file. I haven't seen that before in boot files for PC games when i've toyed around with those.
LOOK IN THESE FILES - [the extracted iso files]\DATA\_LVL_PS2\TEST\TEST.LVL & TESTH.LVL - there is reference to these files that i KNOW are telling the PS2 to jump back and forth between files - I know this is at least ONE CHECK PHASE.
keep in mind i'm a n00b with hex editing and i only have minimal knowledge in programming (C++ only.) but i KNOW i'm right about these files.
With Starwars Battlefront all the data on the disc is given late lba addresses so the first half of the disc is blank with the data being on the second half of the disc,by rebuilding the .iso file you remove the late lba addresses so that big waste of space on the first half of the disc is removed so you end up with an .iso file thats half the size or in other cases if a game is say 1gig and the dvd can hold 4.5gig there will be 3.5gig of blank space at the beginning of the disc/.iso file.Originally Posted by rumble_sushi
This also works with other games,Onimusha 3 for example was around 4gig and was closer to 2gig when rebuilt and the easiest way I have found to rebuild an .iso file is to open it with isobuster then got to save as... then just name it something different to the original and save, now when you check you will find the game is alot smaller than it was but still works fine
I think this is a trick game developers use to stop people being able to play backup games with swap magic due to high TOCs when the games are acctually not that big.
Sorry about this but could somebody direct me to a thread that is about Cdgenps2 v3 ? I 've search and search and can't seem to find the attachment. All i could find was the 2.0 version. Thanks guys =)
yes, this is the same for the NTSC version.Originally Posted by Cyberskunk

AND I ALSO FORGOT TO SAY THAT TEH SIZE OF THE ARCHIVE.AR FILE SHOWS UP AT -14606.... (WITH THE NEGITIVE) IN USING CDGENPS2 V3
)I noticed these references aswell, but apart from the DNAS i haven't been able to find similar references in any other SLES/SLUS/SCES files, perhaps this level check sequence is unique to Star Wars BF? This would explain why on an unmodified image the disc would start to spin then BSODOriginally Posted by JammaNET
