Hey, i was searching around the forums and could not really find an answer to this. I have an 80 gig maxtor ide hard drive that i used to use in my ps2 for use with hdloader. I have now replaced that with a 320 gig one for my ps2 and i am found just laying this perfectly working hd to waste. Now i would like to be able to use this on my pc again before i formatted it for use with the pc. I was wondering if some1 could direct me in the direction of how i would go about doing this? thanks and i wait for ur replies

You want to use it on your PC again before formatting it? I don't get it. You have to format it if you want to use it as an extra storage for your PC. Unless of course you mean you want to extract the files (ISO's) from the PS2 HD (to transfer to the new 360g HD) before formatting it? If so, then I guess you could use one of the transfer utility (WinHIP, Handiness, etc) to extract the ISO.

It's possible to format it as it is but if you have a hard time using the Computer management menus on the disk management window you can download the PowerMax software at Maxtor website and have it to erase the HDD. If Windows detect a totally empty HDD it will pop a install wizard and that might be easier for you to follow than manually format the drive at the Computer management window..
