Codebreaker and HDloader retail problem
Codebreaker and HDloader retail problem –
I've searched through the forum and no one seems to have this exact problem, so here goes:
I have a "cracked" codebreaker 9.2 (and 9.3, not cracked) on my flash drive. Loading either via uLaunchelf is no problem (though with 9.3, I need to have a pressed disc in the tray, apparently). I put in my retail HDloader disc after selecting cheats, and that boots up fine, too. However, no cheats actually seem to work. I've tried mainly CB9.2 with Resident Evil 4, but have tested other games off the HDD too. Doesn't matter which cheats I pick, nothing registers in game. That first villager in RE4 has killed me so many times now testing the infinite health cheat...
Anyway, here's what DOES work for me:
1) I can put in a pressed disc after selecting cheats, then swap in my trigger disc as per directions on this board. I can then load off a newer HDL off my flash drive, and then select a game from the HDD. This time, cheats work!
2) I can put in the retail game disc (tried with GTA and MGS3) after codebreaker, and cheats with those games also work.
So, why doesn't my retail HDloader disc work? That'd be the easiest way to cheat, and seems to work for most people. I could keep doing option 1 above, but it's a hassle, and my disc tray already has issues opening and closing. Is my HDloader disc just messed up? It plays games just fine. Any ideas on what the problem is here? Thanks in advance.
i could never get the retail hdl to use cheats i think its cuz of the encryptuion because if i burn the patched hdl then the cheats work fine
I've got an unmodded PS2 so I don't think burning a patched hdl will work for me. I was under the impression that CB9.2 needed to load up a pressed disc.
Edit: dlanor's mentioned multiple times that you should be able to go from cb straight to the hdl disc, but I can't post the links (<15 posts). BTW, I've tried having the hdl disc in the tray before loading cb, turning off auto tray open, and that didn't work either.
