clunk? –
08-31-2004,02:16 PM
Hi!
I have a maxtor 120 gig drive I just put in today. i've never used a ps2 with a drive in it, so I don't know what to expect.
I believe everything is working well, but when I power it down, it makes a clunk. Sometimes when I power it up, it clunks again? Is this OK? Normal? It usually scares me if a computer makes the same noise? Is there a graceful way of shutting it down besides hitting hte power switch on front?
thanks for your help!

most hdd do make that, simply on power down, as ur ps2 boots the bios will power down the hdd, and when u turn off your ps2 the system will power down the hdd.
I hear using a dms chipped ps2 you can install official sony utilities which prevent the hdd from powering down after the boot, but other wise you have to live with it.
