    Well good news atleast so far is that with 0.8b patch everything seems fine. My PS2 is currently installing Shadow Of The Collosus.

    One small question if ya don't mind me asking it here. What exactly is this MDMA/UDMA stuff used for and when would you need it?

    Few games are programmed in a way that they expect to get data at the speed the CDVD-drive is able to deliver it. If the data is read too fast when using the HDD it can overwrite data already in the memory that has not yet been used completely and that leads to trouble.

    DMA-mode is what controls the speed the HDD-controller in PS2 and the HDD itself communicate at and the slowest MDMA0-mode works nearly at the same speed the CDVD-drive works.
