can't get psx game to run exploit
can't get psx game to run exploit –

Hi everyone, just started to mod my ps2 and I've ran into a problem with my modded ps2.
I followed the steps in KillerSpaz's tuturoial but I have been unable to run a psx game on my ps2 to mess with the mc exploit, I do have the files loaded into the mc but the game just won't load. If you need the console version its: SCPH-50001, I don't know what chip was installed in it though...
And yes I have tried that "hold the standby button for 3 secs" but i've only managed to boot dvd movies and that's it.
Is there any other way to do the mc exploit besides using a psx game? or make a custom disc and have keylauncher etc on it.

Begs the question, why do you want the exploit to work if your console is modded???
If the chip is dee mmm sss, then are you holding the circle button down when booting up?
Is the slus_***.*** in the title.db file matching the slus on the psx game, (and is it an original game)???
Also, why again are you wanting this to work if ps2 is modded???

i want the exploit to work so i can load other ELF files without having the need to burn them, and plus i got a HD in there and I want to take advantage of it (IE Partitions and maybe even linux on it). and yes, the game is original and i have done the tittle stuff right. The game i'm using is Final Fantasy IX, its a greatest hits re-release, would that matter in any way?
I'm not sure what chip is inside the ps2 right now I had someone at some store mod it for me. Is there anyway to find out without opening it?
EDIT: tried holding the circle button with no sucess

uhm if you have a mod, just make a cd with ps2link and then you can run whatever you want on your ps2 with inlink/xlink. this is the method i use.

I used the one from http://www.swapmagicfix.com/
the tutorial said to ignore the instructions on the site, just run in command prompt: titleman -a XXXXX.XX
well alucard, just want to steer away from using the optical drive for this as much as possible, i might just use your solution then if this doesn't work out.
I think its my chip that isn't working for me to boot the psx game. Did the steps correctly. So is there anyway I can check what chip is in it?

sorry, my English is not very good.
What is the error again? Is your PSX1 disc simply boot directly into the game, not the exploit?
What's the version of your PS2 (meaning, JAP, US, or EU)

it's a US ps2, the psx disc doesn't boot at all... without the disc booting the exploit cannot be done I assume...

yeah thats true the game has to be able to atleast boot without the exploit
EDIT: http://www.psx-scene.com/forums/show...light=titleman
use that program its frontended and real nice just instead of a - use a _ for SLUS_954.34 like that. Or just put the disk in the pc drive and use the get title.db from sys.cfg file
