    Is there a tool which will make an image of my ps2 drive and compress it .for backup reasons....cheers
    p.s I know whiip will clone drives but that is not what im after.

    another solution is u can extract the images 2 ur hd and keep them therr if ur hd is big enough

    this might be just 'hearsay' or whatever but i heard (or saw) in a forum somewhere that you can use Norton Ghost to make a 1:1 image of the hard drive. i just don't wanna hear how many DVD's that'll take though.

    i haven't tried it, mate - but that's just what i had heard. i thought there was a cloning feature though that allowed one to clone a hard drive to another (if it was the same size and all). but after asking a linux guru, i was told that you could also use a program in linux called "dd" to work with non-standard partitions, as well. maybe "dd" can clone a playstation 2 hard drive? he made it sound like he uses it for his TiVo at home.
