Can I boot from Hard Drive, without PS1 Disk

I have a PS2 V7 with a bad disk
(couldn't fix Disk Read Errors),
Would like to be able to boot it up with hard drive or MC without using a disk.

I have another PS2 V7 that's working fine,
Have HDA (120GB Maxtor) and on home network. (using EXECFTP).

Any suggestions??

Certain modchips will let you do this.

Funny that its not reading from CD-rom.. Uselly the DVD goes out.. Hmmm.. Did you try to adjust the CD-Rom diod.. But ya get the Alchol and cuetips ready!..
I also have 2 version 7's and ya.. Its not possible as of yet to boot with out a boot disk... At lest on that version!.. Sorry..

If it reads dvd's then why not make a DVD-R version of hdloader.....

p.s. its possible, i currently use one, just do a search for DVD hdloader or something to that effect.
