Yes you can ... with a pogram called PS2-MENU-k

(i can go into browser and load that data into the MC?? then insert the game and reset the ps2 and BAMM no prob???)
I heard that there was supposed to be an official $ony disc that can do this by upgrading the firmware. Whether it exist/released or not i dont know ... but there is something similar to that but you need a DMS3 chip.
Actually goin into $ony's browser menu and doin something like that requires implementation on $ony's end

i have the dms3 already. i would rather have some pogram do it for me. Like a menu would pop up and ask which file do i need to load ro eve recognize what game im playing and go into the drive and get it itself. I figured a way to do the data swaping and i think its better cause i dont have to buy another memory card all i have to do is go into the drive and get the data i need. But there are too many steps to do this and i dont have the new ps2 with the IR on it so i can use the remote.

Sorry i dont think there is anything like that as yet ... but since you have DMS3 the original PS2 HDD install disc should recognize your HD as discussed in this thread
    http://www.psx-scene.com/forums/showthread.php?t=24362
and you should be able to explore the HD in the browser menu
