Booting an iso >8gb? –
08-22-2011,02:10 PM
Hi everyone, I have a question: would anyone know how to boot an iso that is over 8gb? TehJawKnee suggested in an old thread that it's possible using IMGburn but I can't quite contact him to ask questions about this. Maybe by making the Dual Layer Profile in the settings custom and putting in values? I have no idea of this. Please, if someone can help me, I'd very much appreciate it!

yes you will need imgburn to make a fresh ISO and then after that you need to use WinHIIP 1.7.6 to install the Game to your HDD then you can run it either using OPL or HDL

Yes, I know that, it works just fine for an original Rock Band iso, but when I edit the iso, it tends to grow in size as I put longer songs in and the iso's size increases from 7.66 gb up to the point where I try to boot the iso with HDAdvance like I usually do (first flattening the image and loading it with mode 2) and it just pink screens me.
I once made a huge Flatout 2 iso by inserting files beyond the last files in the ToC, and it gave me the same result, most likely due to being larger than the Dual Layer limit of +/- 8gb.

i thought DL limit was 9.5 Gb ? but the problem would definitley be the LBA addresses if the files you are replacing are bigger than the originals.

It could be, I just know that anything that just comes over the 8gb will give me that specific error. That could very well be it, but I don't know anything about that, can you explain? I posted on SKS Apps too and someone suggested the 'LBA fix'. Could you provide some explanation what it all means and what would have to be done?
