    Ei der, I'm actually planning on installing a hdd for my V9 ps2 all by mself...i have the knowledge with regard to the use of independence and using elf files...i just wanted to ask whats the best brand of hdd to use im plannning on spending bout $100 for the hdd and the net adaptor...so basically i dont want to buy crap...I wanted to consult you guys whats the best brand that worked for you guys...I'm a bit skeptical of western digital coz... 've like had 2 of those for my pc and experienced heck a lot of problems,...thanks in advance!

    Get a Seagate or Maxtor they are the best quality and work best with the Playstation 2.

    Fill out the reliability survey on storagereview.com to access their reliability stats. It looks like Seagate is at the top of the heap nowadays, but you should probably also read the reviews to make sure you get a model that doesn't run hot since PS2 doesn't exactly have great cooling.

    i use a maxtor 250gig... run perfect... cost 110$can

    Whatever you do, for you own sake please avoid Western Digital,
    3 different size WD disks crashed in my company last year;
    now we use Seagate.

    I use Maxtor drives in all my PC's and in my PS2 and never had a problem with them.

    me too Maxtor is for me Nr.1 at this time and i have no trouble with Maxtor.

    With Seagate i have 3 Broken hdd´s the last 3-5 years i will buy Seagate no more

    i have a wd never had a problem with mines.
    I thought saving 15% on my car insurance was good but having my ps2 modded by N£TM£ÇH was way better!

    WD are bad with PS2 because you have to jack up the network adapter just to make it fit!
