Exact same steps i took and Flattened GT4 didn't work for me either. and yep, i unpacked it with PS2 unpacker before i made the file comparison. I'm doing it again and will post a screeny. Takes a whileOriginally Posted by tot31

Atleast the patched GT4 refuses to work with this.
Quick compare reveals only one byte change in the main program and the core has two bytes changed (oddly the person who did it also kept the core encrypted.
Patched PAL GT4 runs fine, Tested "The Urbz PAL" (didn't have anything else to test) which wasn't working with HDL.... Still not working with the hacked elfOriginally Posted by Zer0-X

D'oh, stupid me. The versions on my drive weren't working images at all. The only working image was the patched one on my USB-drive.
Anyways, the patch in the main program just repositions the HDL screen a bit and the one inside the core seems to be the patch Crazyc & Romz discovered while ago which people use for GoW.
So nothing new in it.

Bah, what a joker... obviously if that "GOW patch" worked for an upatched flattened GT4 we wouldn't be having this discussion at all today.Originally Posted by Zer0-X
Oh well, thanks for finding out, saves the rest of us time.

was the core still encrypted? that would explain the differences in the file comparison through Hex Editor
ah well, so much for that. least zer0-x cleared that up for us.
