Bad FMV stuttering on newly hacked ps2

Hello I just hacked my memcard with fmcb, esr, etc and have been playing around with it. It's giving me a bit of a rough time though and wondering if anyone can help out.

1. I have a kingdom hearts iso and burned it to a disc, but esr wouldn't read it. I'm guessing i need to do something special to to it but cant figure out what!

2. I tried streaming games using OPL through a usb drive and my network. I got them both working, but the kingdom hearts opening fmv stutters pretty bad. It's unbearable on USB and somewhat better on my network, but it's still there. is there anything i can do about this stuttering? I'm going to try and get an ide hard drive but....

3. I have the ps2 fat with an expansion bay, and a separate western digital 80gb IDE hard drive. Will any hard drive work or only certain ones?

1 i have kingdom hearts and it works fine from HDD internal... for ESR have you patched the ISO before burning it to disk? get the ERS patcher from the thread.

2 USB will stutter... smb should be fine though.. IDE will be better.

3 I assume you have a network adaptor to test the network.. but a WD drive will not fit without modifying the adaptor. WD drives have extra distance between the power and IDE sockets. i have used Seagate drives ok, Maxtor, and i currently have a 500Gig Hitachi in the PS2....

Pretty much western digital is the best, then Maxtor, then seagate then etc, also playing games from the USB will always have stutter because the PS2 doesnt have 2.0 ports, games play brilliant off an internal hard drive though, so yeah Western digital, Maxtor Seagate etc, also make sure you have a network adaptor

Simply bullshit!
Any hdd vendor should be fine.
You can adjust all needed parameters via vendors software.
My prefered hdds are samsung and seagate.

I patched the iso, burned it, and it plays wonderfully with esr, and doesn't stutter =)

usb seems to be the worst, I'm not even going to bother

SMB still stutters though, and you said it shouldn't. Any idea what I can do to fix the stuttering?

Mate read the post A WESTERN DIGITAL WILL NOT FIT. the network adaptor would need to be modded first.

that just wrong, i playing games with fmv on internal hdd, and always have stutters!

the sound and video doesn't play at the same time, its horrible!
try too play kingdom hearts for an example and you will see

Then it's an isolated case. It's really rubbish that you'll get stuttering for all or most games when playing off the internal HDD.

If your game malfunctions, it's either because:

i) Your game is incompatible.
ii) The HDD access is too fast.
iii) You have a bad game installation.

The PS2's CD/DVD drive isn't fast at all - it's only capable at transferring data at around 3600KB/s, while the HDD interface can go way faster than that.
