Backups with HD Loader

Does anybody know why it won't accept backups of DVD games? My PS2 is modded with the Messiah 2, HD Loader accepts CDR games but it refuses to install DVD games. It's the same with Xploder v4 cheat disc it will apply codes to CDR games but it won't for DVD games.

Am I doing something wrong?

For my Messiah 2, I found that to run my HDL off my memory card I need to hold down the power button to have it run my PS1 original. This then shuts off the chip and therefore won't let me run my backups. This is all speculation of course and is just what I deduced. I could be wrong, but this seems to be the only explanation for me.....

I'm having the exact same problem. Although, I don't mind using FAPLink - but it'd be a lot easier if I could just load the games from a DVD-R.

its a problem with all Messiahs that you have to turn off the chip to boot ps1 originals i use winhiip or boot from a dvd/cd backup of hdloader
