I have a collection of games that I have modded for the PS2 HD, getting rid of padding, shrunk for HDL, ect, and I want to put in a new HD into my PS2. Can I use a program to take the games off of my PS2 and on my PC, so I can transfer them back?

Sure. With hdl_dump you can transfer a game image to another HD (as .ISO image) or directly to another PS2 HD: http://hdldump.psx-scene.com/howto.html#basic_examples

Probably WinHIIP has something similar and i'm confident that basic unix tools like "dd" can achive the same...
winhip you can copy entire drive to new hdd (if you can attach New HD and old ps2 hdd o your comp might be easier make sur eyou get correct drives too
I can not mod the PS2 HD adapter now... they must have changed it, the screws are tiny, and 6 sided....
