Back Up HDLoader & Action Replay Max –
07-03-2004,01:29 PM
Specs: PS2 Version 7 NTSC/US (No Mod Chip)
80 GB Maxtor *hdloader aproved hdd*
8MB Mem Card (4 mb free)
made sure i checked all of your forums, but no one has asked this question...
I ordered my HDLoader two nights ago. but i have downloaded the HDLoader cracked version (just to get games installed and to get the ball rolling). I installed it on my friends ps2 (with a mod chip) and everything worked fine. (installed 13 games, tested all and all worked). Now i have my HDD back in my PS2, it spins. i still have the cracked version of the disk. but can i use Action Replay Max or Game Shark to boot the disc?
thank you for your help...

You can probably get it to boot, but you still won't be able to play anything. For AR, not sure if this will work for MAX, but if overload the codeset, it will stop the disc, at which point you can swap it with your favorite method and then boot the HDloader disc.

Why wouldnt it play anything? If they have the cracked version, then it should work...modded or not.

Action Replay Max will boot the HD Loader.. Your issue will be once you are in HD Loader and want to copy backups to the HDD, as HD Loader reinitialises the PS2 CD/DVD protection (it will want an original game to copy to HDD). To get around this, you just use a swap trick. The normal method of using a CD game (leave it in for 15 seconds) and then do the swap trick and put in the game you want to backup.. hit install, as soon as the backup is in and it should read it. I have many backups on HDD now, thanks to HD Loader and Action Replay Max. Best of all, I don't need to do a swap trick anymore to boot the games on HDD and I have HD Loader on my mem card, so I just leave a PSX game in the PS2 to boot it up.
