Attempt to use a 2.5" SATA 250GB HDD with a v9 PS2

bfoos, for me it's ok.
I already knew that the tutorial for the BBA adapter SCPH-10350 (LAN only) is less interesting.
I think 30 + Downloads are ok, especially since the thread title is not so suitable for my tutorial.
If I finished the tutorial for the BBA SCPH-10281 (lan + modem), I will create a new thread with the English versions, and all the tutorials as a downloadable attachment (german/enlish 10281/10350).
I also like more the version for the SCPH-10281.
I also have modified 2 SCPH-10350, but i have only the SCPH-10281 in use.
Monday or Tuesday the 10281 is finished,
I would be happy if you (or your friend) would translate it also.

I can confirm, that a Samsung Spinpoint SATA is working.

As next i put a 500 GB 2,5 SATA drive in my HD-Combo.
Why only 2,5 and not 3,5 ?
I have not managed to create enough space so that the 3,5 HD work stable with the IDE/SATA adapter.
But with the 2,5 HD the additional HD-Combo Power Supply is not needed.
If I have it correctly identified on the IDE/SATA PCB, 12 V are not needed for the IDE/SATA adapter.
The 12 V goes directly to the power connector for the 3,5 drive.
For me that is the perfect solution to take the PS2 to my friends and siblings,
and 500 GB are more than enough for the Music, Party and VS. Games.
I want to make it switchable for internal 5 V use for 2,5 HD and external HD-Combo Power Supply for 3,5 HD.
The HD-Combo Power Switch i want also to usuable for switching off the 2,5 HD.

Hmm, is the 8 V Slim Power Supply enough for Slim PS2, 2,5 HD and LCD Screen ?

Cool, the Samsung Spinpoint 2,5 500 GB SATA and the Delock IDE/SATA adapter are working with the 5 V only. No need for the 12 V power.
Now i can put it in my PS2 Slim HD Combo without the need for the additional HD-Combo power supply.
I'm happy about that :)
The additional HD-Combo power supply was for me so far the biggest criticism.

Hmm, the HD-Combo power connector is simply a PC PS2 connector.
If i solder a PC PS2 cable with a USB cable i can directly use the USB 5V to the HD-Combo power socket.
I think that's the easiest way to use a 2,5 SATA HD with the IDE/SATA connector without internal resoldering.

The best solution for use of a 2,5 HD (SATA with Delock adapter) in PS2 Slim HD-Combo is to build in the back side of the case a female usb connector (internally soldered to usb 5 V power) beside or under the HD-Combo power connector. With this variant the power adapter cable is completely on the back side and the cable can be very short.
Additionally use a 2.5 to 3.5 HD adapter kit to properly fix the harddrive.
