ARMAX EVO mediaplayer on HDD
ARMAX EVO mediaplayer on HDD –
Can it be done? I've been trying for a week solid to get it to run on the HD, hex-editing and redirecting command calls and addresses...if anyone thinks they can help, email me:
I'm up to here and at wits end with this...can it even be done?
are we talking about the SLUS_200.90 (main elf) or are we talking about something in BIG2.DAT. how do you extract from it?
[edit: big2.dat is just a dummy full of 00's. hmm. ]
the media player is in a seperate elf file. I am pretty sure that is what he is trying to edit.
Anyway, chances are they would not make it easy to modify values.
mcscruff and i got this working. basically we took the files from the media player folder, replaced the INTRO.AVI with our own avi (divx, xvid) and created a disc image.. it works, but the media player sucks balls..
its nowhere near as good as ps2reality.
i'm trying to boot it off the hard drive though
I wouldn't mind getting the MAX Memory Manager working from HD using the seperate ELF of the program thats on the CD.
Anyone tried hacking that for HD loading?
If its a separate ELF it might just work without hacking?
does the disc as a whole run form hdloader?
have you thought about copying MAXMEM.ELF along with all the folders with images in them onto your MC, then hexediting the elf to reflect thoes changes?
the whole thing wheighs in at about 2.5 megs
I don't know about the ARMax Evo , but the AR Max (w/ 8MB MC) appears to be only one ELF (slus_200.90) and 14 IRXs (named as *.cod in the 'cod' directory).
This version doesn't have a media-player (only a region-free dvd) and doesn't advertise any USB support, but there is a "zipusb.cod" in the disc.
I tried running the slus_200.90 through ps2link... it was trying to load it's modules (the cod files) from cdrom0:, so I tried with the cd in the drive. Same output but it freezes.
I can run it from HDLoader -- simply used HDLoader to install the ARMax disc. The memory manager works fine, but I haven't tried downloading updates when loaded this way.
Personnally, I'd love to find a way to access the ARMax MC without having to boot the ARMax CD either direct or through HDLoader.
