To clarify the original question, I think Z put it the best on his own forums:

Why do people keep asking this? Older games (pre-DNA$) can be, but ALL new ones can't from mid-2003 to present. This is covered both on ****** and also in the Sticky thread here. Thread closed, another useless thread started to rehash the existing information available.

I think that pretty much proves they never had any intentions of releasing their own SMAP patcher or else we would brag and point people to donating. They were probably counting on someone to pick up where the french guys left off and improve it, only then they could have re-released a "proper" version. A better version was never released, so they let it die, laughing all the way to the bank.

All I can say is I feel for the suckers that actually donated for this (although not that many people by their own admission)

are u workin on a version that will work w/ all dns games?

ans to above..
some of us cant play on the disc thats why we use HDL cuz we cant play backups
