well i finally got a phat ps2 because my slims network port wouldnt work from my duo3 chip im guessing.
so i went and bought a network adapter for 10 bucks (last one they had in the back at my local used store)
and now i have SMB games working. the thing is, i want certain games on the internal drive.
SO, heres my question
my network adapted came without a drive caddy (metal thing u screw drive into)
is there somewhere or some way to get one? i cant seem to find one on ebay..
or should i just try to fabricate and sort of jimmy rig the drive in there?

In the "fat" PS2 you donīt need a "drive caddy", cause there is a "expansion bay" in the back.
So you just have to open the cover, connect the HDD with the adapter and put it in the "expansion bay"....

hmm, looks like there is a metal thing attached to the hard drive, finally found a decent page this morning.. your saying i could just set it in there without it and it fits? my main worry was that it would be loose and smash around inside the case. not that i move the system every, but if its got a bit of space under it, then its putting stress on the drive connectors both on the drive and adapter? i am not sure. but thanks, if it works well without the metal rack then i am happy.

It can move around in there! A couple of times after I've moved it I've had to open it up and push it back together because the hard drive wasn't being detected. Now when I move it, I keep the internet adapter down and I haven't had any problems so far.I thought about finding a small spring or even a wad of paper to put in front of the hard drive to jam it into place so it wouldn't move, but it never was that much of an issue since I rarely move it.
