I can't find it anywhere to buy, even the link that was posted said the item was "comming soon" I don't know how new this is but I hope somebody stocks it sometime. For now I'll have to invest in a larger IDE HD.

I was wondering the same thing, if an eide to sata adapter would work. It works on xbox's with mixed results. I'm sure a 3.5" drive wouldn't fit in the HDD bay with the adapter attached, but I would think it's possible to run an eide cable and molex power line from the network adapter to the outside of the case where it would connect to the adapter and HDD. Sure having them connected outside the case may not be ideal but if it works...
I was thinking about that idea too but if going IDE to IDE the longest extention cable I could find was 3" with 1 male end to female end. This still limits you to using IDE which would defeat the purpose other than being able to use western digital HD's.
I really want that one posted in the link but so far it's not available yet. I don't know what their current status is either![]()
I found the original page it's on. http://www.acard.com/english/fb01-pr...&type1_idno=11
Hopefully you can order direct and report to us how it works.

I can't view any of the Acard website. I thought maybe they were out of business or something. I just upgraded to windows explorer 8 and I hate it.
You wouldn't be limited to EIDE only. If you ran the EIDE cable extension from the network adapter to the outside of the case, you then attach it to a IDE/SATA Drive converter that would attach directly to your, now external, SATA Drive. To pretty it it you would probably need to enclose the drive in a case of some sort.
The product featured on the acard website is just a ide/sata drive converter with a carriage for the drive, for $35 US. I have a couple ide/sata converters from extremedeals.com, I need to see if I can drum up an ide extension cable. If so, I'll try it out and post back here. Don't expect a reply anytime soon though, work keeps me busy.
I don't see why it wouldn't work as the delock adapter/mod posted in the other thread seems to work, same idea using a ide/sata adapter.
Some IDE/SATA adapters work, many cheap do not.
And not every adapter fits into the case of the network adapter.
That is the reason why the Delock adapter is preferred for the BBA SATA Mod.
You seem to forget that your goal is different.
You want to use an external hard drive.
They are different conditions.
But for this purpose must have the extension cable as short as possible.
The SATA cable from the adapter to harddrive can then be longer.
And you have to make a opening in the case of the PS2 console or network adapter through which you can run the IDE cable to the outside.
Agreed. I suppose it depends on the intent of the project. I agree, after studying the delock method, it would be preffered. Last I looked, that specific adapter was somewhere in the range of 30-40$ US, And of course there are many adapter configurations.
As long as the adapter works, I think it's up to the user to figure out how to fit the hard drive in or run cables to the outside, but again like you said, delock would be the preferred method.
Hi, if you can try if acard 2133 fit into ps2 bay you must know measures of acard 2133 adapter. Here is: 131mm(D) X 101.6mm(W) X 23mm(H).
Bye.
