You need a modchip that supports auto-ATAD patching and the HDD Utility disk to update your browser.

I have my V4 with Matrix Infinity setup like that and it's really not worth it. The only real neat feature is backing saves onto the HDD, but you can also do this with LaunchELF (better IMO as you can export to .PSU). Also if you boot to the browser it takes forever as it has to read the information of the HDD which means it has to load the HDD drivers and initialize and all the jazz.

    Not really worth it.

Well this feature is good because somegames that install themselves to ps2hd and then you can play them from hd inserting the disc not to mention saving to hd and installing socom maps etc and download other stuff for some games

so in my opinion 30-60 for a dms4 or matrix chip is nothing or if you are very rich you can buy offical sony hd to get the same features

You also need a USA PS2 for the USA HDUtillity to work. I have a messiah, an OFFICIAL PS2 HDD, and it won't boot because of my PAL PS2. Not even a auto-ATAD mod will help if the region of the PS2 is not USA.

Is there any other way to auto-ATAD patching can be done? I managed to get an iso of the HDD utility disk, but so far when i boot it i only get a bright pink screen, soloutins to that would also be helpful:P ... I dont much mind the slow startup its to clear out my momory cards ... ever since i got the HDLoader working all the games on it seem to have no where to store the save games.

Do you have a PAL PS2? If you do, it won't work no matter what.

Just use uLaunchELF and make .PSU backups onto the HDD. You can even copy them to your PC if you want. Much better solution IMO.
