    Hi!

I want to post this thread here for all the non-spanish PS2 users that cann't read or post in the original ps2fmsx thread.

I will post here future releases and also, check for user responses/problems/suggestions keeping both threads updated.

Latest ps2fmsx version is v0.6b and can be downloaded from: http://www.wisecoding.com/file/publi...ds/ps2fmsx.zip

Inside the ZIP file there is a README.TXT where the main features and use of the emulator are described.

There is also a compatibility list of MSX games with ps2fmsx but I don't know if I can post it here because it is in a thread in the spanish forum site I originally released ps2fmsx. If the moderators allow it, I will add the link here in the future.

Hope you enjoy playing again MSX games like King's Valley, Nemesis, Knightmare and many more that we played when we were younger.

    Regards!

If you want this to be the release-thread (for this site), I think it would be a good idea to 'mark' it as that (for example in the threadtitle).

One of us can sticky it, also.

    Btw.:
It is just nice, if the released version is directly attached to the first post, to keep it all sorted and visible for newcomers and those, which read the thread for the first time.
You donīt need to, if you donīt want it. I just thought those tipps help to keep it all 'clear'.

    Edit: Sticky.

Today I had some time to try out this emulator, I've got some mx1 and mx2 roms, I can select them in the emulators main windows and when pressing START only MSX BASIC screen appears. Am I doing something wrong? Any help is appreciated.

    Hi

You must select the ROM or DSK to use previously to pressing START. Try pressing "X" on the name of the ROM or DSK you want to emulate and then, once that you see the message "XXXXX ROM SELECTED", you can press START.

I exactly did that already, but it seems not working. I've selected Contra.mx2, pressed X and a message on screen appeared: "Selected:Contra.mx2". Then I press start and nothing happens, just MSX BASIC screen.
I've put the rom in a folder on my memory card because when selecting MASS: PS2fMSX freezes. But PS2fMSX is on my 4GB Toshiba USB Stick and I start it through uLE 4.40. I don't know what could be the cause.

Ah, now I got it to work. Apparently MX1 and MX2 files aren't supported. ROM and DSK files seems to work without a problem.

Is there a possibilty of including more/different display options in the future? I'm using an RGB connection, and it looks quite blurry (due to the stretching and filtering I suppose). I'm guessing it's not running in non-interlaced mode? Simply doubling 2x and not stretch and filter it would be also an alternative I'd be happy with.

    Hi,

Yes, in the future I would like to include at least support for NTSC (currently gsKit is forced to PAL and to a default resolution). I don't know if the cause of the blur you indicate is the resolution or the fact that the emulator screen is drawn using linear filtering.

Anyway, the next version (the one in progress right now) cann't include this change as I have to review all the internal timings and such because the emulator synchonizes the MSX emulation using VSYNC and could be affected by any change in the resolution/screen timings.

In this version what will be new is:
    - Support for two players mode (two joysticks mapped to the two pads of the PS2)
    - Support for USB keyboard (so, programs can be typed to the MSX using an standard USB keyboard)
    - Changes in the interface (font colors, scroll speed, background, etc...)

Properly stretched to 4:3 and with no filtering I suppose it would look similar to the FCEUltra/Snes9x (old, dunno about the new one) emulators on the PS2, I think.

That's great, I can put my Keyboard to good use then.
