That is no normal environment, to start homebrew anyway.

If you really want to do it that way, I suggest you to try it with OPL, since it's cdvd-emulation is somewhat more accurate.
I created a bootable iso with PS2INFOGB.ELF and a folder with roms, then transferred this iso to the PS2 hard drive.
Why are you stil using the old PS1-Exploit anyway?
The memory card exploit which I use requires an original PSX game to be in the drive (I use Wipeout).
There's FMCB, which is compatible to a wider range of models and also you wouldn't need a Trigger-Disc.
In fact, you don't even need a working CDVD-Drive, when using FMCB.
Why are you trying to load your games/ROMs from CDVD anyway?
HDLoader runs the emulator fine, and I can load games off the memory card, but obviously you can't fit many games on a memory card.
You can also load it from 'mass'/USB-Mass-Storage-Device and probably even HDD directly (I didn't tested it and I'm not sure, if this is even implemented...).
You can try to swap your discs (with the swap-trick) in uLE and start the emu afterwards.
The iso I created (which HDLoader is running) has a folder of roms on it, but I have no way of browsing to it. When I browse the CD, it is looking at the actual physical CD drive (containing Wipeout), rather than the emulated CD drive (containing my ISO full of GB roms).
So I burnt the roms to a physical CD. After loading the exploit, I remove the Wipeout CD and replace it with my CD of roms. But when I browse to the CD in the emulator, it is still showing the contents of the Wipeout CD, it does not refresh.
This is a problem I have encountered with other emulators. Is it something that can be easily fixed?
