Hi gang,
What methods are out there for removing macrovision from a PS2? I know most chips will do it, but are there any software solutions?
Cheers,
RS

rimshot28: no software that i know of.
if anything you can do it with a PIC chip. 4 wires.
Heh, the only "software" solution you'll probably get is to just put your original DVD-ROM in a PC, decrypt and demacrovision it, then reburn it to a new DVD-R/DVD+R disc and play it in your PS2. =P
Like foundmy said, there is a PIC 12c508/9 microchip that can do it.
But it needs to be soldered to the mainboard.
I think dvd reagion x use to do it,but I dont know if it supported newer ps2 versions.
can't you use dvddecrypter? they say it works good for ps2 games too, it removes macrovision, and any other protection, but i'm not sure.
how much for the PIC?
DVD Region software hack on MC does it for me on a V10 (SCPH-50004) PS2Originally Posted by fasman
