About LinkBacksI have an odd problem with my PS2. I bought it from a used video game store, and being the dumbass that I am, never checked it out within the 30 day exchange period. PS2 Originals play perfectly fine (DVD discs, I have no CD games), and PSX games also work fine. When I put a DVD movie in however, nothing happens. When I go into the browser, it says "Reading Disc...," but no drive noise is apparent. I have tried putting in a PSX backup, and it gives me the "please insert a playstation 2 format disc" screen. As far as I know, there is no mod chip in the system, but there very well may be. Anyone have any suggestions?

Nope, the light comes on right away, and still gives me the same problem. Any other suggestions?

07-28-2003,12:28 PMI don't think you have a mod. Try several dvds, as older ps2 don't play dvds very well. If it is still a no go try a cleaning disc.

well, i tried a few more dvds. fast and furious worked. i was amazed. if i had any desire to watch THAT movie, i would have been much happier. if i got new firmware would i be able to watch newer stuff?

when i go to watch a DVD the movie will come on it will play a bit then it will get fuzzy i has done this with several DVDs the only DVDs that i can remember doing with is Little Nicky, Next Friday , and The Fast and The Furious. but ith the fast and the furious i would play all of the movie it would skip parts
