DVD movies from USB –
Is it possible reading movies in DVD format, not DivX, from USB pen drive using Ulaunchelf? I don't want to burn a dvd if the movie is not as good as I want...
Thanks for your replies and sorry for my English...
1. put VIDEO_TS folder to your pen drive, then put ur pen drive to ps2.
2. open sms and open VIDEO_TS folder
3. open VTS_01_0.VOB and movie will be played.
Thank you very very much!!!!
Hi! I've just tried your tips...it doesn't work...sms don't recognize .vob files...
All modern versions of SMS do recognize ".vob" files, but not all of them.

Only the pure movie files have any chance of working, and probably not all of these either.
And even when it does work, there are several limitations that you should be aware of, such as not supporting DVD-Video subtitles or alternate soundtracks etc. And perhaps the worst limitation of all it the 1GB file limit inherent to the DVD-Video standard. You can't even get around it by using the 'play all' command (circle button with folder selected), as you might use for a movie split over several AVIs, because with a DVD-Video movie that will usually cause an attempt to start playing the incompatible menu ".vob" files first, sometimes crashing SMS.
For playing movies in DVD-Video format you're better off using some other means than SMS, either using a computer to play it, or burning a proper DVD-Video disc for use with the normal DVD-player program built into the PS2. SMS is not able to play such movies in a satisfactory manner and that is not likely to change anytime soon, if ever...

I need some help from you guys..
My external usb hard drive is 150GB and the file system is FAT32..
Everytime I try to play movies using SMS it doesn't show the folders on my usb hard drive.
Any idea? Thank u in advance.
FAT32 doesnt recognize files over 4gb maybe that is the problem
You can try the older SMS USB drivers and maybe your device will work with them. They are on the official site.
