DVD movie From Hdloader?

Hey I cracked my ps2 and all of my friends, and he doesn't have a dvd player.

He currently has a non-modded Ps2 with the Hdloader Mem Card exploit working on it.

He was wondering if it's possible to take a dvd from his computer (let's say ripped into an iso format or something) and put it onto the HDD through Winhiip onto the ps2 and play the dvd through hdloader.

I dunno, I think HDLoader executes the SLUS**.** file. I duno if PS2RealityPlayer works with an HD either.

you cant play videos off of HDD at the moment if im correct. ps2realityplayer will work from hdd but it cant access HDD partition so you cant play movies off hdd.

I had this idea one time about taking a game with an intro movie or something right at the start, replacing the intro with a new video file of my choice (and deleting all the now useless game data), so it should run the movie on startup of the 'game'.
Given the PS2 video format, while specific to the PS2, uses Mpeg2, I'm sure it can't be hard to generate a file, there's probably some tools although I have not cared to look into it.

Never did get round to trying it though.

hey that sounds like a good idea..im pretty sure it will work if its the same format as the original intro....maybe i might try that later...ill keep u guys posted ...

But there is no easy way to say, Load up hdloader then click install, insert DVD movie, and install to the HDD?

And what's this Ps2 REality PLayer?
Could I play a burnt DVD movie on a non-modded ps2 with Hdloader?

it might be possible if sumone developses an .elf file , which we can inject a movie into so it boots as it was a game but in the menu , u can choose pl play a movie... without using media player, just hdloader.....

might wanna look into a game such liek socom navy seals , it has the demostration recruitment video... much like other games have options ot vew a movie file... maybe switching the move in for the game movie might play it if it is relinked and done right, might be worth a shot

hdloader does not play movies at alL! not liek a game!....and u can play a burned dvd movie on a un modded ps2, its be liek a bootleg, it has to be encoded and burned right tho.

I can play a burnt DVD on a non-modded ps2???

Please don't tell me swap magic or somecrap... is there a program to put in the exploit so it will read burnt dvds?

yes....you can play most burnt dvd movies in your PS2 with no problem...oh, and donnie, why are you wearing that stupid man suit
