DTL-H10000S Help?

i have a DTL-H10000S and i cannot play dvds lol :[
has anyone upgraded the dvd player, mine says that it is not installed when i put a dvd movie in

anyway, i have a scph 10000 an it's the same deal:
basically dvd drives were not included with the system upon shipping, but rather came in the box on the utility disc. 1.0.0 drivers will let you play any region DVD, but finding that version will be hard. all you need to do is find a japanese utility disc and it should install ok.

by the way, is there any chance you would be willing to trade your "test" case top for a clear green 10000 case?

robo can confirm this, but I thought that the debug stations didn't play DVDs at all.

now that i think of it, that might be true.

maybe i'm thinking of something else. i know theres some strange limitations about the debug systems.

i would like that disc if anyone has an image or any information

it does not have the test cover but the serial on the back says that model number

what case does it have then? this sounds strange
does it play CD/DVD games ok?
it might be a strange scph10000 mixup

it has happened before that consoles get strangely packed or assembled when they just lauch. my main ps2 (old imported scph10k) never has a label on the back, so it's possible that yours was mislabeled or that some smartass put that sticker on it.

one way to check is in your system config on the ps2 home screen (when it loads with no disc inside)

Debug stations cannot play DVD movies. I believe I have that original disc somewhere. I'll find it and let you know.
