I have the reality player, it plays about half of my divx/xvid properly.
ps2reality player, will play no shutter if the resolution max is 480x480, morethan that it will sutter a lot .
I heard that on some files you can press R2 or L2 and back the movie up a little or make it fast forward and then itll work perfectly. So far this situation worked on one or two movies.
reality player is outdated.. go grab SMS (simple media player) from ps2bins.ps3central.org
Hey HypERSoniC,... I've yet to play around with SMS, but I thought that it would only play video over the network via naplink or something like that. Am I right? Or can you play videos (divx & xvid) off of a dvd-r?
SMS can play from CD/DVD, HDD, USB/MASS and NETWORK/HOST. Currently plays Xvid and DivX video with MP3 and AC3 audio.
It's open source and got a great potensial, so if you can, go and support it in the SMS forum.
I attached the latest svn readme file. You can get SMS 1.4rev2 in this thread (#71).
Thanks ivc. I'm definitely going to check it out (hopefully I'll find the time tonight)! It's too bad that the Reality fellas quite developing their media player - but maybe it was a blessing in disguise, because now we've got an open-source in the works!
