For the 1) I have no HDD, so, I can't test/port the actual code. But maybe it would work straight, thanks to the "where am I run from" detection code. Feedback welcome.
For the 2), hum, well, that would eventually mean changing the internals of the engine. Rather a work for senile's team I'd say, but, well, in order to achieve that, one has to do "data synchronization". And I've never tried that in my own coding life

Humm you mean installing it with hdloader?
Cause I had a good idea.. (based in the same idea that i said to you once about dms3hddformat partitions in the first news about PS2BOR). I know that you dont have a spare HD for testing porpose (ok, but let me continue :P)... You could use "where am I run from" detection code to detect a BOR partition on hdd..
For example.. the default partition name that PS2BOR.ELF would look for would be +PS2BOR (+ because it means that is a storage partition.. its the same type of partition used for pgen roms) and there would be PAK files that would be also detectable. And you ask me "how are you planning to exec PS2BOR.ELF" and I say "from DMS HDD Explorer"
.. "But i said i dont have hd.. how i will test it?" I can help with it

Thats a problem.. Senile team is excelent (I loved their game and i will love the next) but I doubt they would care about a network gameplay.

No, he means that if you put it on the HDD and use something like PS2MENU to run it (I'd assume DMS HDD explorer as well), it might work already, as it checks the path it was run from to load the files from.
For example.. the default partition name that PS2BOR.ELF would look for would be +PS2BOR (
+ because it means that is a storage partition..
Actually, the + means it's a shared partition, and not everone agrees we should be doing it... but it's become sorta the defacto standard since the main partition tool uses it...

Sorry for my dumb question.. Did you say it wont EVER work with HD?
I'm curious, did you compress BOR.ELF with ps2-packer? Or is it uncompressed already?
And Drakonite I said to PS2BOR mods use +PS2BOR partition (common/shared partition) because it would be easy to send mods through ftp with execftps

Well Pixel I tried BOR on the HD. I loaded it using PS2MNU-K and it works great. Took three attempts to get EXECFTPS to transfer that large pak file to my +MAIN partition. Hopefully the bugs with EXECFPTS will be worked out soon. Anyway no sound problems that I was aware of and I played to stage 6 on easy until I died. I really could use rapid fire as my fingers get tired after a while that and no analog hurts. Sorry, I can't speak for how the game is supposed to play as I have not played BOR until today.
Anyway thanks for opening this game up to the ps2 homebrew scene, as I probably never would have been able to play it on my console.

I mean it won't work with either hdloader or hdadvance
Thanks E P for the great news
And, hum, maybe if you're smart enough, you could find how I managed to finish up the game without beeing an hardcore gamer ^_^
And no, I didn't compress the binary.

Yeah, I noticed that glitch as well. I quite don't know where it comes from exactly, but I suspect some non-reentrant problem into printf or something similar...
